Carmen Reppel

[edit]

5x expanded by Gerda Arendt (talk). Self nominated at 15:44, 25 March 2014 (UTC).

  • I copyedited the article, which is good as far as it goes but seems to be somewhat incomplete... Firstly, since the cited credits only go up to the late 1980s, are we to assume she's retired? If so, be good to mention/cite that clearly. Secondly, nothing at all on her personal life? That said, the article is long enough, expanded 5x, and fully cited. The hook is short enough, interesting enough, and cited to a German-language source. Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) 14:06, 26 March 2014 (UTC)
  • You caught me, trying to expand 5 singers in 3 days. 1 left, then I will add to this one and the other "incomplete" one. No much private information in the 1960s and 1970s. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:57, 26 March 2014 (UTC)

Hi, I had to guess at which ref applied, but I could not find a ref to these three works she appeared in the Bayreuth festival ref Victuallers (talk) 16:31, 7 April 2014 (UTC)
Perhaps we have a misunderstanding, the Bayreuth ref covers both, but the Siegfried Wagner was not in Bayreuth but Wuppertal. The Jahrhundertring was staged in 1976 but shown every year until 1980 (and filmed in 1980), - do you need a different ref for that? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:38, 7 April 2014 (UTC)
like this? see also IMDb --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:44, 7 April 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for the extra detail. Its just tricky when there are 2 or 3 bits to the hook Gerda and some bits are offline. Its wasn't clear which ref refered to which factoid. I'll try and complete the review later, but do ping me if I fail to do it. Victuallers (talk) 12:46, 8 April 2014 (UTC)
"She" was created as a multiple red link on Jahrhundertring, perhaps look there first. Online sources for the three parts of the Ring could by copied from there, but are summarized on the bottom of her Bayreuth entry (online). The other opera is mentioned in the same, next to the pic. (And Ian had found all this, see above.) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:55, 8 April 2014 (UTC)
  • I believe now that Gerda has done about as much on this article as she can, and it can safely go to DYK. There was never any question re. the hook for me, or for the vital elements of the article such as length and referencing. I wanted to give Gerda the opportunity to find what I saw as missing information, i.e. anything on her personal life like marriage/children, and whether she was retired or not. If that isn't available, then it isn't available. It might affect the assessment of the article (I wouldn't give it higher than C-Class, because of those comprehensive concerns) but last time I looked that wasn't part of the DYK criteria. Therefore I'm happy for it to go on the main page if no-one else has any objections. Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) 09:10, 10 April 2014 (UTC)
